Our project “Carrick Remade” aims to tackle the cost of living crisis and environmental pressures by promoting sustainability, reuse and recycling/upcycling. We will run a series of arts and crafts workshops promoting reuse of a wide range of materials and host a weekly repair shop day in our venue in Girvan – the Wee School Arts Space over the next 12 months.

The aim is to create a warm space for local people to use, come together, share ideas, learn new skills and gain in self-confidence, self-belief and feel more connected which has been proven to have very positive mental health benefits. Promoting repair of items and dissuading people from buying lots of unnecessary new stuff will help relieve the pressures on folks finances.

The funding for the Carrick Remade project is from the National Lottery Community Fund , Kilgallioch Windfarm Community Fund and ARIA funding for equipment and storage items.
